LESCOL® XL belongs to a class of prescription drugs called “statins” available for lowering cholesterol. If you have high cholesterol, your doctor may suggest you take a statin in addition to making changes to your diet and exercise routine.
There are a variety of statins available. You and your doctor will decide which one may be right for you.
Statins are very effective in lowering cholesterol and, in fact, are the first choice in the treatment of high cholesterol. It’s important to note that some people who are on statin therapy may have tolerability issues and may experience certain side effects.This depends on the individual.1
Some common side effects include muscle aches and pain. This is known as myalgia. If you are on a statin and are experiencing muscle aches and pains, talk to your doctor.
